Erwin Boiser, Philippines country manager reports:
“Now on two stable feet Maricel proudly stands and shows me how she can manage to walk even on the stairs with ease. She even jokingly told me how beautiful she feels now that she has two strong and balanced feet. I’m one of those who witnessed a great transformation in Maricel after the day we gave her her artificial leg. During our short visit she showered me with thank yous and gratitude on how she will treasure the chance we have given here to be normal.
Her highschool, Alma Mater-Tungkop High School, is also very excited about her leg. They said that in one of their candid conversations they have talked about how nice it would be to see her walk normally on Graduation Day. Indeed with all smiles and humility Maricel walked toward the stage like a normal person with the aid of her new artificial leg. Maricel told me with teary eyes that she could see her teachers crying and some going her way hugging her for joy. It was one emotional night for her that she will never forget!
Now that she’s renewed she told me that she will use her story to strengthen her group. You see she’s the president of the disability groups of DSDW in their area.
She wanted to extend her heartfelt gratitude to Mabuhay (Deseret International) and Trivani for making her life more meaningful. She can never repay the people behind her artificial leg but a prayer that the foundation will live long to help people like her for little miracles that she will change and shape their future.”
Visit the Trivani Foundation website for more ways to contribute to the change we wish to see in the world. |
